Position Overview:
Provides basic engineering services in the energy field to utilities, industrial customers, commercial customers, institutions, federal and state agencies, and other customers. The Motors and Drives Co-op position is entry level and requires proficient skills in areas that use engineering judgement. Work products or processes will always have oversight from engineer or field technologist.
Essential Functions:
Engineering Support
- Provide hands on assistance in laboratory setting utilizing various hand tools and power tools
- Support product testing and safely operate laboratory dynamometers
- Schedule laboratory testing based on incoming shipments and coordinate outgoing shipments including proper packaging
- Support facility reviews and studies or site assessments to locate opportunities for improvements in productivity, quality and efficiency
- Adjust desk heights and rearrange office furniture
- Support quality control, recommend solutions, define and interpret the importance of the implementation of corrective measures
- Support design reviews including load calculations, energy performance analysis or design documentation
- Provide hands on assistance in deploying new technologies in the field
- Assist in coordinating applied research studies on a national basis, consulting with other organizations and experts
- Acquire data from field/lab instruments and process into useful information
Technical Expertise
- Recommend improved procedures such as workflow, testing/calibration procedures, etc.

Project Management
- Participate on project teams

The Information Systems (IS) Specialist II position is responsible for managing and maintaining our Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. Individual will provide hardware and software technical support and exceptional customer service to end- users as well as help users streamline processes using workflow.
Essential Functions:
End User Support

Position Overview:
Advanced Energy provides independent engineering services for utility scale renewable energy resources connected to the distribution and transmission grids. This position will lead projects to provide consulting services and commissioning for renewable energy integration.
The ideal candidate will have project management experience and some knowledge about renewables, the electric power industry, or transmission and distribution grids. This position will work in close collaboration with external stakeholders including utility clients, renewables developers, and subcontractors while also coordinating activities with internal engineering and other staff to deliver services.
Essential Functions:
Project Management
- Develop and refine scope of work and take into account the client’s needs, budget and other resources
- Develop and implement project plans, including strategies, milestones and tasks
- Design and facilitate project meetings and record minutes and action plans
- Coordinate project logistics, including meetings, conference calls, presentations, workshops, client visits, travel, and events associated with assigned projects
- Work with internal team and customer to define and update AE’s role on projects

About the job:
CAM Technologies is looking for an Assessment Engineer, ready to research, analyze, develop, and implement assessments to help deliver energy and cost-saving solutions for our customers. • Develops rapport and trust with customers to understand their needs, production requirements, and planned changes within their compressed air system
• Gathers required system data and information, including pressure, power, flow, and air quality, to properly baseline system performance

Preferred Qualifications:

Position Description

Overview:
The Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Research & Analysis (MEERA) Group in the Manufacturing Science Division (MSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral research associate position in energy efficiency and decarbonization for the industry sector. This position augments ORNL's industrial energy efficiency and decarbonization team, which operates in support of DOE's Better Plants and Better Climate Challenge programs. The mission of the MEERA group is to research, analyze, and disseminate knowledge on energy, carbon, water, and material efficiency in the manufacturing sector and to develop, deploy, and promote impactful practices, tools, and technologies. The MEERA group is a part of ORNL’s Manufacturing Science Division in the Energy Science and Technology Directorate.
Through its energy efficiency & decarbonization technical assistance programs, the MEERA group develops a diverse portfolio of industrial energy efficiency tools and resources delivered to the manufacturing sector through various technical assistance and training events worldwide. The MEERA group actively supports industry partners in improving manufacturing plant energy efficiency and decarbonization through roles in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Better Plants and Better Climate Challenge programs.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will assist principal investigators and lead energy efficiency technology deployment projects as part of an expanding program.
- The candidate’s work will be focused on technical assistance and research related to improved energy management in existing industrial facilities during their operational phase. They should also possess experience in industrial workforce development and technical training.
In this role, the Postdoctoral Research Associate will:
- Support the ORNL team in establishing a scalable industrial workforce consortium to address the current shortage of skilled labor in the industrial sector while advancing the US Department of Energy's vision for achieving zero-carbon industries.
- Provide technical support and guidance to consortium partners to develop and pilot solutions that can be scaled for national reach and/or broad sectoral coverage.
- Assist with ongoing industrial workforce development activities (e.g., In-Plant Trainings, Virtual In-Plant Trainings, Bootcamps, Webinar Series, etc.) for DOE Better Plants and Better Climate Challenge programs.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to the efforts of the MEERA Group’s Industrial Workforce Development Team.
- Support the steering committee to establish and operate the SEED Workforce Consortium:
- Develop the goals, strategies, performance evaluation methodology, and pedagogical performance evaluation systems for the consortium.
- Develop and release the RFPs for consortium partners selections.
- Provide technical support and guidance to consortium partners via regular meetings.
- Assist ORNL’s Better Plants team in organizing virtual in-plant trainings (VINPLTs), in-person in-plant trainings (INPLTs), Energy Bootcamps, and Carbon Bootcamps:

Position Overview:
Advanced Energy provides independent engineering services for utility scale renewable energy resources connected to the distribution and transmission grids. This position will lead projects to provide consulting services and commissioning for renewable energy integration.
The ideal candidate will have project management experience and some knowledge about renewables, the electric power industry, or transmission and distribution grids. This position will work in close collaboration with external stakeholders including utility clients, renewables developers, and subcontractors while also coordinating activities with internal engineering and other staff to deliver services.
Essential Functions:
Project Management
- Develop and refine scope of work and take into account the client’s needs, budget and other resources

Requirements:

The Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Research & Analysis (MEERA) Group in the Manufacturing Science Division (MSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral research associate position in energy efficiency and decarbonization for the industry sector. This position augments ORNL's industrial energy efficiency and decarbonization team, which operates in support of DOE's Better Plants and Better Climate Challenge programs. The mission of the MEERA group is to research, analyze, and disseminate knowledge on energy, carbon, water, and material efficiency in the manufacturing sector and to develop, deploy, and promote impactful practices, tools, and technologies. The MEERA group is a part of ORNL’s Manufacturing Science Division in the Energy Science and Technology Directorate.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will assist principal investigators and lead energy efficiency technology deployment projects as part of an expanding program.
- The candidate’s work will be focused on technical assistance and research related to improved energy management in existing industrial facilities during their operational phase. Additionally, you will provide support to the U.S. DOE’s Industrial Efficiency & Decarbonization Office (IEDO) programs.

The MEERA Group actively contributes to the efforts of the Department of Energy’s Industrial Efficiency & Decarbonization Office (IEDO) by providing technical assistance. This role supports the IEDO’s vision of driving energy savings and decarbonization that can have broader impact across the energy intensive industries, which leads to cost savings, greater resilience, a strengthened workforce, and increased global competitiveness.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to the efforts on research and analysis of technologies and practices for increasing energy efficiency and reducing carbon footprint of the energy intensive sector.
- Program Design: Support in creating technical assistance activities tailored to the needs of energy intensive industries or target sectors considering factors such as energy and decarbonization assessments, workforce development and technology demonstrations.
- Resource Development: Assist in developing relevant technical resources to address the unique needs of EIIs. Resources could include guidance documents, white papers, presentation materials and energy and decarbonization tools.
- Interface with program participants and contribute to technical support activities such as: visiting manufacturing sites, analyzing technologies, assisting EIIs to improve energy management practices, perform energy data benchmarking and analysis studies.
- Project Management: Coordinate with program partners, allies and subject matter experts and assist in the execution of technical assistance activities such as assessments, and trainings.
- Policy Analysis: Evaluate and identify funding opportunities related to energy efficiency and decarbonization projects and provide recommendations to EII program participants.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with trade associations and national labs and leverage their knowledge base to provide technical assistance to EII program participants.
- Publication: Prepare research papers, reports, and presentations to disseminate findings in journals, conferences and to stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

Description
Resource Innovations is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our growing team in New Jersey to lead a team of engineers to deliver our services to various utility clients. As an Engineering Manager with Resource Innovations, you will lead, mentor, and provide oversight of engineers to help customers reduce energy consumption and save money at their facilities by identifying potential energy savings measures, quantifying and summarizing project economics, supporting project implementation, and verifying installation. We are searching for the right mix of leadership, technical ability, program expertise, and interpersonal skills to oversee the delivery of technical services in this region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and enhance their technical skills.
- Maintain quality of deliverables and customer communication and promote continuous improvement.
- Conduct/lead energy audits (both scoping-level and investment-grade) at medium to large commercial and industrial facilities to identify and recommend energy efficiency improvements in systems such as but not limited to compressed air, refrigeration, data centers, process heating, industrial processes, motors, boilers, pumping, food processing, lighting, and HVAC.
- Conduct retro-commissioning investigation and verification services.
- Provide technical assistance to support energy efficiency project implementation. Support may include calculations, scope development, implementation details, and/or impacts on operations.
- Complete energy modeling, economic analysis, and/or simulation to quantify energy impacts of recommendations.
- Write technical reports summarizing results from energy audits and/or retro-commissioning services to quantify savings amounts and incentive payments.
- Maintain the highest level of quality control of deliverable products (for your work and others), demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining project schedules.
- Provide advanced technical direction to other staff.
- Mentor and train junior engineers on various energy efficiency projects, including energy auditing, Measurement & Verification, and commissioning/retro-commissioning.
- Conduct measurement and verification activities as warranted to validate energy savings and ensure the accuracy and reliability of reported results.

Requirements
- Must be located in New Jersey
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, or similar engineering
- P.E. in Mechanical Engineering and CEM certification are desirable.
- A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and principals; lighting, motors, thermodynamics, fluids, and heat transfer
- Minimum 6 years of experience within the energy efficiency or building efficiency industry.
- Familiarity with electrical measurement equipment and how to use it.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deliverable deadlines and budgets.
- Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite.
- Must be able to travel regionally (CT, MA, NJ, NY, & PA), up to approximately 20% of the time.
- Experience in the following areas is a plus:
- Design, specification, or construction of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building automation/controls.
- Calculation of energy savings for commercial HVAC and/or industrial process energy efficiency improvements
- Commissioning, Retro-Commissioning (RCx) and Monitoring Based Commissioning (MBCx), engineering, process, test procedures, schematic diagrams, and system specifications.
- Software, Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) software and systems, Advanced System Optimization (ASO), or Grid-Interactive Efficient Buildings (GEB)
- Building and energy modeling/simulation tools (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST, Trace 3D Plus, etc.)
